Deadline for Submission : Nov 20 2024

The recent global outbreak of Mpox, declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization (WHO), has underscored the critical need for comprehensive research and innovative strategies to combat this re-emerging threat. As the world grapples with the complexities of controlling the spread of Mpox, the Journal of Infectiology and Epidemiology is dedicated to advancing our understanding of this disease through a special issue focused on the epidemiology, clinical management, and public health responses to Mpox.

Scope of the Special Issue

This special issue will provide a platform for multidisciplinary research and discussion on all aspects of Mpox, including but not limited to:

  • Epidemiology and Transmission Dynamics: Studies exploring the geographical spread, transmission routes, and population susceptibility of Mpox.
  • Clinical Features and Diagnosis: Insights into the clinical presentation of Mpox, including challenges in differential diagnosis, advancements in diagnostic tools, and management of cases.
  • Vaccines and Therapeutics: Research on the development, efficacy, and distribution of vaccines and treatments for Mpox, as well as the challenges in implementing these interventions in different settings.
  • Public Health Interventions: Evaluations of strategies and policies aimed at controlling Mpox outbreaks, including contact tracing, quarantine measures, and public awareness campaigns.
  • Zoonotic Origins and Animal Reservoirs: Investigations into the animal reservoirs of Mpox and the zoonotic transmission pathways that contribute to human outbreaks.
  • Global Health and Policy Implications: Discussions on the global health implications of Mpox, including the need for international collaboration, resource allocation, and policy development to prevent future outbreaks.
