Special Issue Information

Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a significant pathogen responsible for respiratory tract infections, particularly in children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Despite its global prevalence, HMPV remains under-researched compared to other respiratory viruses. This Special Issue seeks to provide a platform for disseminating groundbreaking research and reviews that enhance our understanding of HMPV's molecular mechanisms, clinical impact, and public health significance.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Epidemiological trends and clinical features of HMPV infections
• Advances in diagnostic technologies for HMPV detection
• Molecular and cellular pathogenesis of HMPV
• Novel therapeutic approaches and treatment protocols
• Preventive strategies, including vaccine development
• The role of HMPV in co-infections and disease severity

Through this Special Issue, we aim to contribute to the growing body of knowledge that informs the development of effective diagnostics, treatments, and preventive measures to combat HMPV infections.
